On 4 Nov 2011 (Friday), Yayasan Salam Malaysia, a non-profit organization from Malaysia, contributed a laptop, DVD player, Iqra multimedia and books to Masjid Azhar. Imam Vina received the gifts on behalf of the Mosque from Md Ghani Ibrahim, Chief Operating Officer of Yayasan Salam Malaysia. Also present was Mr Ahmad Hasni, Media and PR Executive of Yayasan Salam Malaysia. On behalf of Masjid Azhar, we wish to express our thanks to our brothers and sisters in faith from Malaysia for their generousity.

One of the Prophet Muhammad's saying goes;
With that in mind, and to assist the small, but growing number of Muslim population in Laos, particularly in Vientiane, Masjid Azhar was opened in the Chantaboury District on 10.10.1982 Sized at approximately 300 square metres,the mosque houses a communal prayingp room for both males and females, a community hall, a classroom, kitchen and office space.
Presently, the mosque serves over 270 people from over 70 families and the increasing number of Muslim tourists in Laos.
One of the Prophet Muhammad's saying goes;
Whoever builds a mosque for the sake of Allah, Allah will build for him likewise in Paradise (Sahih Bukhari)
